Softball Recap: Pace Extends Winning Streak to Five

Pace got themselves on the board against Valley View on Thursday, but Valley View never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 15-0 victory. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

Luna Juarez looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Valeria Alvarado was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Maya Galvan, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Pace was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .647. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2025.

The win was the fifth in a row for Pace, bringing their record up to 7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Valley View, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Coincidentally, Pace and Valley View will both be playing Edcouch-Elsa the next time they take the field. The Tigers will head out to face the Yellowjackets at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Vikings will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on the 27th.
