Cactus is 1-9 against Deer Valley since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Cobras will host the Skyhawks at 3:45 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Cactus turned things around against Cortez on Friday. They blew past the Colts 12-2. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Cobras this season.

The team relied heavily on Phoenix Huisinga, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Cactus' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 2-12 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Torres, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Cactus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Deer Valley came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Broncos by a score of 8-5.
Carter Reitz tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
At the plate, Cam Waddell was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hunter Metz, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Deer Valley's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cactus, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13.
