Baseball Game Preview: O'Connor Eagles vs. Hamilton Huskies

O'Connor is 2-8 against Hamilton since March of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Huskies. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with O'Connor sitting on seven straight victories and Hamilton on four.

O'Connor is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Casteel, who was ranked second at the time (O'Connor was ranked seventh). The Eagles' pitchers stepped up to hand the Colts a 3-0 shutout on Tuesday.

Clayton Sheets was excellent, going 2-for-3 with four RBI.

Meanwhile, Hamilton earned a 4-1 win over Kofa on Tuesday.

Tyler Nelson made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Alex Wells and Gavin Hamilton did most of the damage at the plate: Wells went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Hamilton went 1-for-3 with one home run.

O'Connor's record now sits at 24-8. As for Hamilton, their record is now 19-9.
