Meanwhile, Jefferson Davis Academy played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Curtis Baptist, falling 53-27. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 221st in South Carolina, while the Crusaders are ranked 96th in Georgia).

Jefferson Davis Academy dropped their record down to 4-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Andrew Jackson Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-8.

Andrew Jackson Academy barely slipped by Jefferson Davis Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 41-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Andrew Jackson Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
