Baseball Game Preview: Brooke Bruins vs. Toronto Red Knights

The Brooke Bruins will challenge the Toronto Red Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brooke is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Brooke needed a bit of extra time to put away East Fairmont. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bees, sneaking past 9-8. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bruins.

The team relied heavily on Zac O'Mery, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. Brooke is 10-1 when O'Mery posts two or more runs, but 5-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Sperringer, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Meanwhile, Toronto had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Monday. Everything went their way against the Potters as they made off with an 18-1 victory. The Red Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by six runs or more this season.

Brooke's win bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Toronto, their victory bumped their record up to 15-1.
