Volleyball Recap: Page Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Page, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They put the hurt on the Ben L. Smith Golden Eagles with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Golden Eagles: they've now won seven in a row.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Page took every set by at least 20 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-1, 25-3, 25-5.

Page can attribute much of their success to Goergia Pope, who had nine assists and six aces. Those six aces gave Pope a new career-high. Cate Cook also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Page's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Ben L. Smith, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Page didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Western Alamance on the 8th. As for Ben L. Smith, they will head out on the road to face off against Grimsley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
