Fremd had won two straight games and Lily Mayer did her part to make it three on Thursday. The Vikings narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the St. Charles North North Stars 29-26 thanks in part to Mayer, who threw for 231 yards and four TDs while completing 75% of her passes, and also rushed for 141 yards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 102.3 rushing yards per game.

Suzanna Grosman was Mayer's top target, picking up 84 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Grosman showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 54 yards.

St. Charles North's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaelie Tomalak, who picked up 96 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 52 yards and one TD on only five carries. Alexzandria Richardson made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Fremd's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for St. Charles North, the loss snapped their winning streak at 13 games and leaves them with a 15-2 record.

Coming up, Fremd will head out on the road to take on Elk Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings will need to watch out since the Grenadiers have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for St. Charles North, they will square off against St. Charles East at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The Fighting Saints' defense has only allowed 14.2 points per game this season, so the North Stars' offense will have their work cut out for them.
