Monroe extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping them up to 9-2. Everything went their way against the Evansville Blue Devils as they made off with an 11-0 victory. Considering the Cheesemakers have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Kaegann Paulson made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Paulson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Jayde Hawkinson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Ivie Ellenson was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Monroe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in three consecutive contests.
As for Evansville, they moved to 7-2 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since May 6, 2025.
On Evansville's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kate Sendelbach, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Sendelbach has hit this season.
Monroe has already played their next matchup, a 20-1 win against Madison La Follette/East on the 25th. As for Evansville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-3 defeat against Lodi on the 24th.
