Millennium is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Sunnyslope a ten-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Millennium Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sunnyslope Vikings at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Having struggled with nine defeats in a row, Millennium turned things around against Alhambra on Friday. They put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 13-2 victory. The Tigers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 1st (when they won 17-1).

Charlotte McCloskey made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and only one walk). Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Carmen Casillas was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Vanessa Lozano, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Millennium always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, while Sunnyslope put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Mohave. The Vikings blew past the Thunderbirds 14-0. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Kindness Williams looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sam Hyde, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last four times she's played. Molly Nordstrom was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Sunnyslope is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Millennium, their victory bumped their record up to 8-19.
