Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Evelien Hodges and Catherine Knowles Lead Arlington to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lake Ridge, Arlington was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Mansfield Timberview Wolves.

Arlington had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 27-29, 25-19, 25-19, 25-22.

Leading Arlington to victory were Catherine Knowles and Evelien Hodges. Knowles had 24 digs and one assist, while Hodges had 19 assists and 13 digs. Those 24 digs gave Knowles a new career-high. Ryan Ivie also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Arlington's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-16. As for Mansfield Timberview, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Coincidentally, Arlington and Mansfield Timberview will both be playing Weatherford the next time they take the court. The Wolves will head out to face the Kangaroos at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Colts will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
