Recap: Juab Wasps vs. Emery Spartans
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 11 more assists than your opponent, a fact the Juab Wasps proved on Thursday. They walked away with a 60-50 win over Emery. The win made it back-to-back wins for Juab.
Juab can attribute much of their success to Lucy Richards, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Richards has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Addison Hyatt, who scored 12 points.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aliya Lester, who scored 22 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenadie Maughan, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Juab is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Emery, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
Juab will head out on the road to take on Carbon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carbon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully Juab likes a good challenge. As for Emery, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Delta at 7:00 p.m. Delta has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15.
