Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is Crawfordsville's Fourth in Last Five Outings

Frankfort came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Crawfordsville, but Mason McCarty wouldn't allow it. The Crawfordsville Athenians escaped with a win on Friday against the Frankfort Hot Dogs by the margin of a single free throw, 50-49 thanks in part to McCarty, who went 7 for 14 en route to 23 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

RJ Cornman and Lucas Waggoner certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Cornman went 7 of 13 on his way to 15 points along with eight boards and three steals, while Waggoner posted 13 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Luke Beardsley, who scored two points and nine rebounds.

Crawfordsville is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season. As for Frankfort, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-15.

Crawfordsville has already played their next matchup, a 67-30 loss against Northview on the 1st.
