Soccer Recap: Nicholas County Comes Up Short

Nicholas County lost against Grafton back in August of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Grizzlies fell just short of the Bearcats by a score of 3-2.

Ryleigh Bailes and Kamryn Dorsey scored both of Nicholas County's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 17 goals.

Nicholas County has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-5-1 record this season. As for Grafton, with the win, they broke their eight-match losing streak and moved their record to 5-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Nicholas County will face off against Philip Barbour at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Nicholas County will be up against Philip Barbour's rather soft defense (which has allowed 6.25 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Grafton, they will challenge Buckhannon-Upshur at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
