Basketball Recap: Wrangell Drops Season-High Score on Craig

Wrangell scored the most points they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They fell to the Craig Panthers 60-55. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-37 last Saturday.

Despite the defeat, Wrangell saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alana Harrison posted 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harrison has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alexis Easterly, who had eight points.

Craig got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Faith Horner out in front who went 7 of 12 from beyond the arc on her way to 22 points. Those 22 points gave Horner a new career-high. Sara Steffen was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Wrangell and nudges their season record down to 4-8. As for Craig, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.

While Wrangell had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
