Softball Recap: Greenbrier Sets Scoring Season-High Against Baptist Prep

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Greenbrier). They never let the Baptist Prep Eagles get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Panthers needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Lynlee Thomas made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ellison Miller, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Pudinas, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Greenbrier always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Greenbrier's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Baptist Prep, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenbrier will head out to face off against Little Rock Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenbrier is facing Little Rock Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Little Rock Christian Academy is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up.
