Basketball Recap: Abel Villa and Jonathan Henderson Secure Win for Memphis

Memphis entered their tilt with Patton Springs on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They strolled past the Patton Springs Rangers with points to spare, taking the game 70-52. The Cyclones pushed the score to 56-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rangers cut but never quite recovered from.

Leading Memphis to victory were Jonathan Henderson and Abel Villa. Henderson went 10 for 16 on his way to 24 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven steals, while Villa dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards. Villa has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 14 times he's played. Isaiah Martinez was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Memphis has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Patton Springs, they dropped their record down to 3-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Memphis wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 83-56 win against Fort Elliott on the 6th. As for Patton Springs, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 40-27 victory against Kress on the 6th.
