            After a string of five wins, Villa Park's good fortune finally ran out  on Tuesday. They took  an  80-76 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sonora Raiders. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game  last Friday (70), the Spartans still had to take the loss.

Villa Park lost  despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being   Tristan Griffin, who  went 8 of 17  on his way to 22  points and seven  rebounds. The  matchup was  Griffin's third in a row with at least ten points.  Dakari Harris was another key player,  going 8 for 13  en route to 19 points and five  boards.
 Even though they lost, Villa Park  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 15  offensive rebounds. That's the most  offensive boards they've posted since back in November of 2024.
Villa Park's loss  ended  a  four-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 17-9. As for Sonora, the  win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-15.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Villa Park will head out to  take on El Dorado  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. One thing working in Villa Park's favor is that they have posted at least 55  points  in their last seven games. As for Sonora, they will venture away from home to  challenge Troy  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Sonora is facing Troy at the right time seeing as Troy is stuck on  a  three-game losing streak.
