Soccer Game Preview: Woodbridge vs. Laguna Beach

The Woodbridge Warriors and the Laguna Beach Breakers will compete for holiday cheer at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Woodbridge's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

While Woodbridge's win against Portola wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Laguna Beach was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They fell just short of Northwood by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Laguna Beach can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 375th, while Northwood are ranked 98th).

Laguna Beach's goal came courtesy of Tyler Tafreshi, who's now up to two this season.
