Football Recap: Othello Extends Winning Streak to Three

Othello waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They strolled past the Toppenish Wildcats with points to spare, taking the game 41-23. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Wildcats are ranked 157th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Although Toppenish took the loss, they still got scores from Ezequiel Ramirez, Carlos Melgoza, and Moses Melgoza.

Othello's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Toppenish, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Coming up, Othello will be playing in front of their home fans against Quincy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Huskies will be up against the Jackrabbits' rather soft defense (which has allowed 38.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Toppenish, they will venture away from home to face off against Lakewood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 57.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
