6A District 11 recap November 5, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 6A District 11 this week, Winter Haven beat Lake Region 39-7. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Blue Devils.
Winter Haven took down the Thunder 39-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Lake Gibson's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Trey Congdon threw for 255 and 1 touchdown and Chris Clarke had 70 yards receiving. On the ground Thomas Boles chipped in 50 yards. Jeremy Crissey helped Lake Gibson's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 73 yards.
Congdon put up the best numbers in passing as the Braves bested Sebring. Congdon's favorite target this week was Clarke, who caught 4 passes for 70 yards.
Lake Gibson's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Braves feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Congdon has thrown for 1,496 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, while Crissey has 20 catches for 422 yards.
The Blue Streaks made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,343 from 5,422. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 30-7 victory over Sebring last week.
