Soccer Recap: Grafton Takes a Loss

Grafton lost against Wheeling Central Catholic back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bearcats lost 9-0 to the Maroon Knights. While losing is never fun, Grafton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Wheeling Central Catholic are ranked third).

Grafton has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Wheeling Central Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.

Grafton didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 4-0 win against Philip Barbour on the 16th. As for Wheeling Central Catholic, they have also already played their next contest, an 11-1 victory against The Linsly School on the 18th.
