Football Game Preview: Schalmont Sabres vs. Glens Falls Black Bears

Schalmont is 1-7 against Glens Falls since September of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Sabres are taking a road trip to square off against the Black Bears at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Friday, Schalmont blew past Cohoes, posting a 41-6 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sabres.

Meanwhile, Glens Falls was fully in charge on Thursday, breezing past Green Tech 43-6. Given the Black Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked third, while the Eagles are ranked 154th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Schalmont's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Glens Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.

Schalmont ended up a good deal behind Glens Falls in their previous meeting back in September, losing 27-8. Can the Sabres avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
