Bedford proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 14) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Central Cambria Red Devils. Winning may never get old, but the Bisons sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Bedford let Lara Bulger and Rebekah Costal run wild. Bulger went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI, while Costal got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs. That's the most hits Bulger has posted since back in April. Zoie Ulanowicz was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.
Bedford's record now sits at 14-7. As for Central Cambria, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5.
Bedford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central Cambria, they will venture away from home to challenge Philipsburg-Osceola at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Mountaineers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Red Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
