Soccer Game Preview: DeKalb vs. Heritage

The DeKalb Barons will head out on the road to take on the Heritage Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. DeKalb's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

DeKalb came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to Bellmont. The matchup was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for DeKalb it sure didn't stay that way.

Meanwhile, while the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Woodlan who was credited with the win on Monday. The Warriors got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Heritage's three.

Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for DeKalb, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Everything went DeKalb's way against Heritage in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as DeKalb made off with a 9-4 victory. In that contest, the Barons amassed a halftime lead of 4-1, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
