Baseball Recap: Alvin Comes Up Short

Alvin lost to Strake Jesuit back in March of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Yellowjackets fell 4-1 to the Crusaders.

Alvin's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-13-1. As for Strake Jesuit, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Alvin will head out to square off against Dobie at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Longhorns' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Yellowjackets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Strake Jesuit, they will challenge Alief Hastings at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fighting Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.45 runs per game on average), something the Crusaders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
