Softball Recap: Islip Takes a Loss

Islip lost against Miller Place two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Buccaneers fell 10-5 to the Panthers. The Buccaneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ava Mirenda was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

Islip's loss dropped their record down to 7-7-1. As for Miller Place, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Islip will challenge rival Kings Park at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Miller Place is set to face off against their familiar foe Mount Sinai at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
