Volleyball Recap: Lake Nona Lions vs. Innovation Bulls

Lake Nona won the last time they faced Innovation and things went their way on Thursday too. The Lions came out on top against the Bulls by a score of 3-1.

The win didn't come easy: Innovation scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-20, 17-25, 25-18.

Rylan Beard paced Lake Nona's offense, picking up 20 kills. Beard got some help from Jayden Serrano and his 35 assists. Beard was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Despite the loss, Innovation saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Santiago Perez had 25 digs. Will Wellbaum also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Lake Nona's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Innovation, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-11.
