Volleyball Recap: Lake Nona Victorious

Lake Nona won the last time they faced Innovation and things went their way on Thursday too. The Lions came out on top against the Bulls by a score of 3-1.

The win didn't come easy: Innovation scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-20, 17-25, 25-18.

Rylan Beard paced Lake Nona's offense, picking up 20 kills. Beard got some help from Jayden Serrano and his 35 assists. Beard was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Despite the loss, Innovation saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Santiago Perez had 25 digs. Will Wellbaum also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Lake Nona's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Innovation, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Nona will host Celebration at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Innovation, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Harmony at 6:30 p.m.
