Softball Game Preview: Westover Wolverines vs. Pine Forest Trojans

Westover is 0-10 against Pine Forest since March of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Westover Wolverines will face off against the Pine Forest Trojans at 6:00 p.m.

Westover is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They came up short against Pine Forest, falling 18-1. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Wolverines couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Pine Forest's part, Mya Harris made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Harris was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

In other batting news, Pine Forest got a massive performance out of Savannah Winstead, who scored four runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. That's the most runs Winstead has posted since back in March of 2024. Jaelyn Green was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Westover's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Pine Forest, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Westover might still be hurting after the 18-1 loss they got from Pine Forest in their previous matchup on Tuesday. Can Westover avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
