Softball Game Preview: Powell County Pirates vs. Paris Greyhounds

The Powell County Pirates will face off against the Paris Greyhounds at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Powell County is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Powell County came up short against Bell County and fell 11-6.

Powell County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Kincaid, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Paris' good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost 20-7 to Bracken County.

Kay Oliver was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Tori Dumphord, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Powell County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Paris, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.

Paris' hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Powell County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game.
