Baseball Recap: Taylor Prep Comes Up Short

After flying high against Henry Ford Academy on Tuesday, Taylor Prep came back down to earth. The Tigers wound up with the same score they had in their last game (16-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They have struggled against the Pioneers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Taylor Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Edison Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Taylor Prep will face off against Hope Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Edison Academy, they will take on Allen Park at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pioneers 2.3, the Jaguars 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
