Soccer Game Preview: Cibola vs. Central

The Cibola Raiders will head out to challenge the Central Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Central took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Cibola, who comes in off a win.

Cibola will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals back in December of 2024, then bounced right back against Tolleson back in December of 2024. Everything went Cibola's way against Tolleson as Cibola made off with a 5-1 win. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by four goals or more this season.

Leyla Lugo and Danya Roman scored all five of Cibola's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 20 goals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to nine goals the game before, Central was a bit more limited in their match on Saturday. They fell just short of West Hills by a score of 1-0. The Spartans have struggled against the Wolf Pack recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Cibola's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
