Football Recap: Calabasas Starts Season with Victory at Home

Calabasas gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Bishop Alemany Warriors 37-34. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Coyotes have posted since August 23, 2024.

Kayne Miller went supernova, rushing for 187 yards and a pair of scores on only 15 carries, while also picking up 82 receiving yards and one touchdown. He didn't just play on offense: he also made six total tackles and defended one pass. Dominik Hardy helped out on the ground, rushing for 87 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Kingston Celifie, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Coming up, Calabasas will head out on the road to face off against Castaic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bishop Alemany, they will host Notre Dame (SO) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
