Softball Recap: Murray Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Murray never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Park City Miners. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by 12 runs or more this season.

Savana Whitlock was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Whitlock was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Zaylee Winterhalder was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jaidyn Gansauge, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one triple.

Murray hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Park City struck out eight times.

Murray's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Park City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Looking ahead, Murray will face off against Stansbury at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Stallions have averaged an impressive 10.7 runs per game this season. As for Park City, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Jordan at 3:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
