Basketball Game Preview: Wolfson Wolfpack vs. Baldwin Indians

The Wolfson Wolfpack just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Baldwin Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Wolfson will head into Monday's contest on the come-up: they were handed a 50-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against KIPP Bold City, sneaking past 47-44.

Hannah Timmerman was her usual excellent self, putting up 20 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Wolfson's points. Persephone Colon was another key player, scoring ten points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Baldwin). They took down West Nassau 59-45 on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Indians who have now won three matchups in a row.

Wolfson better keep an eye on Nyrie Gabriel. She was instrumental in Baldwin's win, posting 32 points. The dominant performance gave Gabriel a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Danasia Baxter-Johnson, who posted 12 points.

Wolfson's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Baldwin, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Wolfson couldn't quite finish off Baldwin in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 and fell 43-41. Can Wolfson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
