Preview: Rootstown Rovers vs. Lake Center Christian Tiger
Rootstown is 2-8 against Lake Center Christian since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Rootstown Rovers will be home for the holidays to greet the Lake Center Christian Tiger at 6:30 p.m. Rootstown will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 625th, while Lake Center Christian is ranked 159th).
Last Friday, Rootstown was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 46-42 to Aquinas. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rootstown in their matchups with Aquinas: they've now lost six in a row.
Meanwhile, Lake Center Christian put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 64-55 win over Dalton. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Rootstown now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Lake Center Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.
Rootstown suffered a grim 62-38 defeat to Lake Center Christian in their previous matchup back in February. Can Rootstown avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
