Baseball Recap: Osceola Victorious

Seminole typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Osceola proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Warhawks by a score of 5-1. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Warhawks: they've now won five in a row.

Brock Golden tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over 6.1 innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Osceola's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Connor Daly, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Vincent Ferrell was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

Osceola's record is now 12-9. As for Seminole, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Osceola will take on Boca Ciega at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.83 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Seminole, they will challenge Mitchell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Warhawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
