Basketball Preview: Duchesne Eagles vs. Gunnison Valley Bulldogs
Duchesne has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Grand County scored an imposing 63 points on Saturday, Duchesne still came out on top. Duchesne skirted past the Red Devils 66-63.
Meanwhile, Gunnison Valley came into Friday's match having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past North Sevier 64-44. That looming 64-44 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Gunnison Valley yet this season.
Gunnison Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyson Tucker, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of jet hill, who scored 17 points.
Duchesne is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Gunnison Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.
Duchesne beat the Bulldogs 60-53 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Duchesne since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
