Soccer Recap: Jacksonville Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Jacksonville's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Texas Tigers by a score of 2-0. Given the Fightin' Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Tigers are ranked 567th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jacksonville is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 14-1 record this season. Texas dropped their record down to 2-10 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Jacksonville will face off against Mt. Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Texas, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Texas challenge Lufkin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
