Basketball Recap: Evansville Central Gets the Win

Evansville Central won the last time they faced Washington and things went their way on Saturday too. The Evansville Central Bears pulled ahead with a 47-46 photo finish over the Washington Hatchets.

Evansville Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Daveon Smith, who posted 13 points. Smith is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. Zaryen Moore was another key player, putting up six points and six steals.

Evansville Central is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evansville Central will head out to face off against Evansville Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Evansville Memorial knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Evansville Central likes a good challenge. As for Washington, they will head out on the road to challenge South Knox at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
