Basketball Recap: Foster Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Daniel Humphrey and Camran Bateman

Foster was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-41 heartbreaker at the hands of the Alief Elsik Rams. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rams earlier this season, when they won 60-48.

Foster's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Camran Bateman, who posted 12 points and six rebounds, and Daniel Humphrey, who earned six points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Jalen Stephanson, who put up seven points.

Even though they lost, Foster smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in seven consecutive games.

Alief Elsik got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joshua Smith out in front who went 6 for 15 on his way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Timothy Ofesi, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.

Foster's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Alief Elsik, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-16.

Foster will challenge Fulshear at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Foster is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season. As for Alief Elsik, they will face off against Strake Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Strake Jesuit will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Alief Elsik surely won't give up without a fight.
