Softball Recap: Minooka Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for Minooka, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Joliet West Tigers a 9-0 shutout on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won nine contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Marina Hristov tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Addisonn Crumly, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Gracie Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Minooka always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Joliet West only posted an OBP of .120.

Minooka pushed their record up to 15-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Joliet West, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-19.
