Softball Recap: New Athens Takes a Loss

New Athens lost against Chester back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yellowjackets. The Yellow Jackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

New Athens saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jamie Wilson, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

New Athens' defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Chester, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

New Athens didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Dupo on the 24th. As for Chester, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 7-3 defeat against Sparta on the 24th.
