After a string of six wins, Seminole's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 65-54 to the New Smyrna Beach Barracudas. While losing is never fun, the Seminoles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while the Barracudas are ranked 16th).

New Smyrna Beach's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Olivia Olson, who almost dropped a double-double on 29 points and nine boards. Olson's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Corrin Austell, who posted 19 points and five assists.

Seminole's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for New Smyrna Beach, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Seminole wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 65-60 win against Lake Howell on the 23rd. As for New Smyrna Beach, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 75-16 victory against Father Lopez on the 23rd.
