            James Monroe extended their losing streak  to six  on Friday, dropping their season record down to 4-10 in the process. They lost  15-5 to Maggie Walker. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Maggie Walker this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  1-0  last Friday.

  Jordan Hardison made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI. He has become a key player for James Monroe: the team is 2-1 when he posts  at  least  three  hits, but 2-9 otherwise.  Donya Johns Jr also deserves some recognition as  he  got his first  hit of the season.
As for Maggie Walker, their victory was  their seventh straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 8-4. Considering they have won five contests by more than seven  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
On Maggie Walker's side,  Carson Holbert made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   six  hits (and only one walk). That's the most  strikeouts  Holbert has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-5 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run.
 In other batting news, Maggie Walker got a  massive  performance out of  Quinn Redwine, who  got on base  in four of his five plate appearances with two  stolen bases, three  RBI,  and two  runs. Another player making a difference was  Donovan Johnson, who  went 3-for-5 with three  runs, three  RBI,  and two  doubles.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. James Monroe will venture away from home to  square off against Massaponax  at 6:30  p.m.  on Monday. The Yellow Jackets are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on  a  nine-game losing streak. As for Maggie Walker, they will head out on the road to  face off against  J.R. Tucker  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
