Basketball Recap: Detroit Leadership Academy's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

After flying high against Northwestern last Monday, Detroit Leadership Academy came back down to earth. Detroit Leadership Academy received a blow on Thursday as they fell 43-26 to the University Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Detroit Leadership Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 33-19 last Thursday.

University found their leader in freshman Aria Matthews, who went 8 for 18 on her way to 28 points and six boards. Those 28 points set a new season-high mark for Matthews. Another player making a difference was Su'Hunye Green, who posted five points and eight steals.

As for University, they will look to defend their home court on January 23rd against Oak Park at 5:30 p.m. University is facing Oak Park at the right time seeing as Oak Park is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
