Volleyball Recap: Sidney Tranel Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Pickens

Oconee County had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Pickens Dragons on Wednesday.

While Oconee County won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-20, 25-22.

Oconee County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sidney Tranel out in front who had ten digs and two assists. That's the most digs Tranel has posted over her last five matchups. Another player making a difference was Cameron Webb, who had ten digs and three assists.

Oconee County pushed their record up to 35-13 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Pickens, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 20-22.

Oconee County has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Islands on the 18th. Pickens does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
