St. Augustine Prep faced Bishop Eustace Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Hermits walked away with a 7-3 win over the Crusaders. The victory was nothing new for the Hermits as they're now sitting on five straight.

Jameson Dobis tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

At the plate, Brady Jackson and Marco Christopher did most of the damage at the plate: Jackson went 3-for-5 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run, while Christopher went 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Jackson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joe Peacock, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

St. Augustine Prep pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Bishop Eustace Prep, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3.

Coming up, St. Augustine Prep will take on Gloucester Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hermits 3.6, the Rams 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Bishop Eustace Prep, they will square off against Mainland Regional at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
