Basketball Recap: Fairmont Senior Falls to Bridgeport in First Game of Season

Fairmont Senior unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell to the Bridgeport Indians 51-47. The Polar Bears' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it eight in a row dating back to last season.

Bridgeport's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Haylee Pryor, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kloey Martinez, who posted seven points along with 13 rebounds and eight steals.

Fairmont Senior has already played their next match, a 65-52 win against Capital on the 6th. As for Bridgeport, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-22 loss against Wheeling Central Catholic on the 6th.
