Recap: Middletown South Eagles vs. Plainfield Cardinals
The Middletown South Eagles had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 28-18 win over Plainfield on Thursday.
Plainfield's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Joel Cordoba, who picked up 155 receiving yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Kamai Lowery, who threw for 196 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Middletown South's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Plainfield, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4.
Middletown South will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Middletown North at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Middletown North is ranked 74th, while Middletown South is ranked 52nd). Plainfield will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Westfield at 11:00 a.m. on November 23rd.
