Basketball Game Preview: D'Hanis Cowboys vs. Rocksprings Angoras

The D'Hanis Cowboys will take on the Rocksprings Angoras at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

D'Hanis is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Medina: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that D'Hanis blew Medina out of the water with a 68-33 final score. The Cowboys have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Rocksprings took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging an 87-53 victory over Nueces Canyon. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-18.

Rocksprings' win came from a few key players D'Hanis will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Hunter Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 15 boards. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Dwayne Rivera was another key player, going 11 for 16 on his way to 27 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

Rocksprings was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.5 assists per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 8.6.

D'Hanis is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.3 points. As for Rocksprings, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-12.

Everything came up roses for D'Hanis against Rocksprings in their previous meeting back in January, as the squad secured a 79-47 victory. Will D'Hanis repeat their success, or does Rocksprings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
